with high season in Thailand approaching there is no better time for a list of the best hostels for one of the most iconic cities in Asia.

Whether you are searching for the best street food in Thailand, chaotic party scenes, exploring magical temples or all of the above… here is my list of my top 3 hostels in the bustling city of Bangkok that you need to consider for your upcoming trip!

  1. Kicking off this list with my personal favourite hostel in the city, Bed Station.

9.0/10 (2000+ reviews on HostelWorld)

Bed Station offers us the perfect mix of relaxation, comfort and an outstanding social scene! Situated a quick walk away from Bangkok’s iconic party street, Khao-San Road. It’s fun and affordable which makes it the perfect hostel for young travellers hoping to meet new people and enjoy everything Bangkok’s nightlife has to offer.

For the perfect hangover cure to your Singha headache, Bed Station has an outdoor gym and a swimming pool, both located in the bar area which makes a great place to hang out and socialise with fellow travellers.

Bed Station is located a stone’s throw away from public transport lines to take you into the heart of the city, here you can explore Bangkoks famous temples, The Grand Palace or take a stroll through Lumphini Park to spot some monitor lizards!

They have 8-18 bed dorm rooms with the choice of male, female or mixed dorms. Each bed is a spacious double with its own privacy curtain, a reading light and a plug socket. The rooms are equipped with large lockers in the room to store your bags and oh.. did I mention the double bed?

Bed Station should be the top pick for those looking to experience everything Bangkok has to offer.

2.

Lub D is a chain hostel with several locations across South East Asia, well known for their stunning facilities, social vibes and great locations, Lub D should be on your list if you are searching for a fun hostel to stay at while you explore the city and enjoy the nightlife!

This hostel has a stylish common are where you can chill out, work or socialise with travellers. Lub D also has its own cafe if you are searching for your caffeine fix, and of course a bar to enjoy in the evening! With comfortable beds, storage lockers, laundry service, distance from public transport and Bangkoks main malls this hostel could not be any more convenient for backpackers.

3. Last but certainly not least we have Once Again Hostel.

This hostel is slightly different from the others on the list as it isn’t a ‘party’ hostel despite being located close to Khao-San Road and featuring a stunning rooftop bar with amazing views. Once Again Hostels aims for more of a chill, cosy vibe. The social spaces are intimate and comfortable so you can still meet other travellers. This hostel is catered more to those who would like to spend their time in Bangkok by sightseeing and participating in activities rather than taking part in the nightlife scene, but you are welcome to enjoy the best of both worlds at this hostel.

Each dorm has a larger than usual bed, lockers and blackout privacy curtains, it is centrally located but still allows for peace and quiet. The staff at this hostel are very highly regarded for being super friendly and genuinely helpful – make sure you ask the staff for their recommendations on their favourite places to eat and the best things to do while you are in Bangkok!
